Shift Happens is a podcast hosted by two sisters who invite listeners into candid conversations about their personal and private lives. One sister is a registered dietitian, the other a wellness coach, and together they explore health, mindset, family, identity, and the realities of navigating adulthood.
The name Shift Happens is a deliberate play on words; a light-hearted reframing of “shit happens”, centred around the idea that meaningful change comes from small, consistent shifts rather than perfection.
Our role encompassed the full end-to-end production of the podcast, from initial concept and brand identity through recording, filming, editing, and final delivery. The aim was to create a podcast that felt authentic to the sisters’ relationship while being professionally produced for both audio and video platforms.
Rather than adopting a polished, Instagram-perfect wellness aesthetic, the brand and production needed to reflect real life: messy, emotional, funny, nostalgic, and deeply human.
The core strategy balanced warmth and relatability with credibility, ensuring the podcast felt trustworthy as a wellness platform, while remaining intimate, playful, and unfiltered in tone.
We approached Shift Happens as a complete production, considering how the brand would translate visually, verbally, and emotionally across each episode. Visually, we moved away from sterile wellness tropes and embraced an aesthetic that felt lived-in and expressive, mirroring the conversations themselves.

Brand language prioritises progress over perfection, honesty over curation, and humour as a point of connection. Mansalva was selected as the primary typeface to create a strong, consistent voice across branding, captions, and on-screen graphics.

The visual identity is rooted in storytelling, nostalgia, and shared history; themes that extend into the filmed episodes themselves.
Warm-toned imagery and childhood photography highlight the sisters’ long-standing bond, adding personality and emotional depth across branding, motion graphics, and episode content.
Chalk-style accent elements, including hand-drawn arrows and highlights, reinforce a sense of nostalgia and playfulness.
These details reference childhood classrooms and sibling banter, adding contrast between the podcast’s professional production quality and its informal, conversational tone.
The colour palette reflects warmth, optimism, and balance. Yellow brings energy and positivity, plum adds depth and credibility, while off-white and pale green soften the overall feel.
Together, the palette supports both expressive and considered moments across static branding, filmed content, and motion graphics.

The Shift Happens logo is confident yet approachable, designed to perform across podcast platforms, social media, video thumbnails, and promotional assets.
Its typographic focus allows it to sit comfortably alongside expressive imagery and graphic accents while remaining legible across audio and video environments.

The final outcome is a fully produced podcast, delivered from concept to launch. By combining thoughtful branding with intentional recording, filming, and editing, Shift Happens feels both professional and personal.
The podcast captures the sisters’ warmth, humour, and honesty, positioning it as a credible yet relatable space for real conversations… proving that meaningful shifts don’t require a complete overhaul, just a place to start.
